Objectives
Development objective
The development objective of the SIYB regional
programme is to contribute to economic growth and the creation
of sustainable employment
Immediate objectives
The immediate objectives of the SIYB regional
programme are:
- to enable local Small Enterprise Development
organizations in countries covered by the regional programme
to effectively and independently implement SIYB training
and related activities
- to enable small entrepreneurs to start
and grow sustainable businesses and to create employment
for others in the process.
Indicators of Achievement for current project
phase
These indicators are:
- 1 250 adequately selected potential entrepreneurs
are trained in the SIYB programme
- 75% of total SIYB trained entrepreneurs
complete their Business Plans
- 25% of the Business Plans submitted for
funding are approved
- 20% of the total trained entrepreneurs not
yet in business start ,trained in the SYB programme start
their businesses
- 80% of SYB trained entrepreneurs who started
business are still in business after one year
- 2 jobs created per new enterprise started
- 80% of the trainees with existing businesses
improve their businesses
- 90% of trainees apply management skills
- The 45 trainers in selected user organizations
each participate in organising and conducting at least one
TOE or TOPE
- The participants in the TOE/TOPE are satisfied
with the quality of training and follow up assistance offered
to them
- Linkages are created and strengthened between
SIYB training and access to finance.
The SIYB programme objectives are assessed
against the indictors above.
